The Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) is effective through 2020. Its purpose is to provide access to training and employment services for a range of workers, including low-income adults and dislocated workers. To qualify, you…

  • Must have been laid off from employment or be scheduled for layoff
             OR be receiving food stamps

OR be formerly self-employed, now unemployed due to economic conditions or natural disaster
  • Must be willing to cooperate with employment placement and tracking activities

* A Displaced Homemaker is defined as an individual who has been providing unpaid services to family member(s) in the home and who has been dependent on the income of another family member but is no longer supported by that income AND is unemployed or underemployed and is having trouble obtaining or upgrading employment.
